Portraits with Nicolette

Nikki and I were portrait partners for the photo class I'm in right now, and our assignment was to take two portraits: one that was "real" and one that was "ideal."  That whole idea is open to interpretation, but these are the two I ended up liking best of Nikki.

For the "real" portrait, I asked Nikki where she feels most comfortable or most herself on campus, and her answer was the library, so we went and shot there.  I'm guessing the librarians weren't pleased with the massive number of books we had off the shelves.

Nikki balances a lot of things in life, like any good college student, so we played with this idea a bit more with her "ideal" portrait.

Kristin and Brad

I had the pleasure of shooting with another one of my roommates and her boyfriend this weekend.  The shoot was last minute so I struggled a bit with the lighting.  Brad and Kristin are adorable together, though, so they definitely made up for it :)

Kristin and Brad are hilarious together and I love how great the photos turned out because of it.

Oh!  and it looks like I'll be shooting my first wedding in January :)  I'm super excited.

Earthwork

I'm not only a photography student, so here is some of the other artwork I've been doing lately.  This was a group project for class that we worked on last week.  We created art from what we found in nature, which ended up being ragweed, which one of the girls is really allergic to.  We probably should have realized that earlier... oops.

Anyway, enjoy some images from the project.  It was a lot of fun to make, though it took quite awhile...

Portrait Session with Elizabeth

Elizabeth had a few minutes this afternoon, so we took some impromptu portraits.  The lighting was a bit harsh, but we did our best.  Elizabeth is beautiful and I had fun editing these.

Deanna & Kolt

These two are not engaged, but they're dating and adorable and volunteered to let me shoot them this past weekend.  This was my first real work with a couple and I had a blast working with them.

And now for some more edited ones...  Did I mention it was so much fun working with them?

Beginnings

I'm hoping to break into the world of couple photography, meaning I would love to shoot your engagement, wedding, first date (well, maybe not.  that could be weird).  Also, pretty much any type of portraiture.  Enjoy my work :)

A few of my friends in downtown Chicago.  As you'll see as I get around to uploading more work, I'm most passionate about photographs that capture the essence of people.
